Carrying the Gospel to the Foothills of the Rocky Mountains
Jesus Christ came with one message: "Repent ye, and believe the gospel".
The Gospel says that "Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures." (I Corinthians 15:3-4). The fact that Christ would leave Heaven and come to earth proves that He loves us.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ” (Romans 5:8). He did this to set us free from the curse and eternal consequences of sin. Sin is the root cause of all human suffering and every problem in this world. Jesus came to deliver us from that.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23). The bible declares that all mankind are sinners in need of a Saviour. A sinner is any who has broken God’s Laws (the Ten Commandments), and that is everyone.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23). Jesus paid for all sin when He died on Calvary.
Salvation comes by “Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 20:21). Repentance means “to turn”. Turn in your heart to God and confess your position before Him as a sinner. Believe that Christ died on the Cross to pay for your sins. Believe that after three days He rose from the dead, and that He is alive today. Put your trust in Him and talk to Him. Tell Him you believe Him, admit that you are a sinner and ask Him to save you.
